Which wireless keyboard were you using, have no problems with my Logitech K260. Did you check if there wasn't anything interfering with the receiver or if it was not faulty?

It's a mechanical Keyboard at a decent price, a little above your budget - Here's a link.

Personally, I would get this (R663.00):

If you want cheap maybe look at Genius? Some of their budget gaming keyboards have features you don't find on the more expensive brands. Just using Comx as a reference.

Genius KB265 Gaming keyboard with backlit keys : http://www.comx.co.za/GEN-KBG265-Genius-KB265-Gaming-Keyboard-with-backlit-Buy-p-76752.php
R280 or there abouts

R420 or there abouts

Genius Imperator Pro Gaming keyboard : http://www.comx.co.za/KEY144-Genius-USB-Imperator-Pro-Black-Keyboard-Buy-p-73838.php

Personally I have used the first one, and for the price I was pleasantly surprised.

I recently got a compact Logitech wireless keyboard + mouse combo... The Wireless Combo MK220. I'm using it right now, sitting on the couch and typing away at my laptop hooked up to the TV. :) Funny thing though - I prefer the wireless comfort of sitting on the couch to plugging in my super Razer Naga Molten MMO mouse. Yes, I'm sacrificing a hundred buttons and accuracy, but I'm playing predominantly SP games these days - trying to clear out my Steam backlog.

TL;DR: Get a cheap Logitech wireless combo, you won't regret it.

Recently bought myself a "supposedly" gaming keyboard a few months ago as an upgrade -- an XGR Backlit Keyboard. Haven't yet done any gaming on it yet but will comment further on that when I do.

My recommendation for now will be: Genius, Logitech, Microsoft or Razer, if you can afford it -- those are obviously your better quality brands of KBs.

I know this sounds silly but I was just like you looking for a bugdet gaming keyboard, but decided to buy a xbox receiver to use my xbox controller to play one pc, it was around R200, kinda regret it now because I look at every link in this threat.

Damm you xbox

As far as budget, zalman make the best, you can get a keyboard with all the bells and whistles for about R350.
As far as personal recommendation and horror at fellow forumites, gigabyte keyboards are impressive. I have the gigabyte aivia, love it. It's the Porsche black version and in the past 2 years I have had it I have no complaints. Should be around R700.

Zalman is nice keyboard but does not have that look that you can brag about when you are with yours friends, Is the porche black edition still available.

I give up, lol. You know that 90% of those blue lights don't glare up like that, it's just for advertising effect. It looks a lot plainer when you see it up front.

Unless you wave your keyboard around with the lights off when you game?

I would also go for the Logitech. Better features. I'm also looking into getting a new keyboard and was looking at this one as well.
