Best Budget Graphics card

Hi there I know this has been asked a million times but my friend want to get a new graphics card. He doesn't want to spend much. The max he will go is R2K but prefer t go lower than that.

I though of getting the Radeon 5770. At first I though that it's a good card but now I have second thoughts. The 4870 also looks good but it doesn't have DX11 support. He will be playing newer games.

Also his got the cooler master 334 case. That's according to him will just have to make sure of that. That case is a bit small to fit huge cards.

Grid 2 is the only game out now that's using Dx11. Maybe it will be good to wait till next year and make up his mind. There is a 5770 benchmark/review here somewhere as well.

4870 ftw or 5850

and no the former doesn't support DX11, but that's a small price to play for ther performance > cash ratio

Ok I will tell him to wait and save some money for a better card. It will work out the best. the one problem is that he's sitting with a 6800GT. I'm sure he won't regret it.

Maybe he should get his whole system with onboard grahics so that he can at least use his system.
