Best Burgers

Where have you eaten the best burgers? I'd like to try out some more places.

The best burgers around here are Rocomamas. The one on Beyer's Naude. Strangely enough I've eaten at other Rocomamas restaurants and they haven't come close to the one that's close to here.

Second best burgers I've eaten are at Gourmet Garage in Monte Casino.

Any places that you guys can recommend?
 
hmm don't have za specific recommendations, though in general I find that the better the steaks at a restaurant the better their burgers.

I suppose either they have access to good meat or the don't.

I also try to steer towards burgers that taste as if someone made them at home rather than the over-engineered chemical things that McD etc sell.

Rocomamas is amazing! The one on Mackeurtan Avenue, Durban North is the best and iirc is the actual training branch for all the other branches.

I can only suggest places in Durban and the best place I have tried other than Rocomamas is Republik:

They have by far the best tasting patties out of any burger place I have ever been to, bar NONE! :love:

Afro's Chicken Shop deserves a mention for their amazing Chicken Burger.

And lastly another place I would like to try because of the following pic is The Grandstand Sports Bar in Ballito:

Guess my vote won't help anyone unless they're on holiday here on the coast. But here goes...

Riverbend Crocodile Farm has some superb tasting burgers, and as far as I know, all their meat is pure crocodile.

Mojoz in Shelly Center is just amazing. From service to their home made patties that are so flavorsome. I really love their patties.

Sadly though, I can't think of anything that looks as grand as the ones posted above, but they taste amazing.
 
In my area there is a few places here with nice burgers.

Qwagga Burger at the Kwikspar Hayfields
Fainting Goat Burger at the Fainting Goat Coffee Shop in Howick
Coffeeberry Burger, not sure if it is still good haven't been there for ages
Quincy's Burger at Quincy's in the PnP centre, PMB.

A few others out there too.

FUCK I remember that thing... used to be the thing to have when passing through PMB. Though I'm sure I remember it being at an Engen garage.

Yep, they get my vote too. Not sure about where their outlets are, but I know of the one in Centurion. I suppose Roco would be my 2nd choice.

We actually ordered some Rocomamas the weekend (they're close enough for delivery) and instead of putting the Old Skool BBQ sauce on the burger, they gave it separate in containers. So yesterday I went and bought some Steer burgers and "fixed" them with the leftover sauce from Rocos. Not as good as the proper Roco burgers, but still an improvement over Steers. :D

There is one in Pretoria close to Hatfield as well.

I went to Rocos this weekend. Was very disappointed
 
A new place recently opened in Middelburg, Big Buddies. Had a burger there 2 weeks ago and it was amazing! Better than the time I had a Rocomammas burger when I was in Cape Town (the one close to Cape Gate).

i second you with Brooklyn Brothers! their burgers are awesome(spur ruined the patties of roccomamas since taking them over) they are still good though, but no longer my number 1.

i will also recommend Smokehouse Grill in Fourways, their burgers are awesome. They have this one burger that is served with a bacon donut... man its delicious

There are so many excellent burger places in the Capital! If you want good burgers, you are going to have to come to P-Town:

Capital Craft (Centurion or Menlo Park)
Burger Bistro (Centurion)
DK Burger (Waterkloof)
Ed's Diner (Woodhill/Garsfontein)
Edit: Hudson's (Hazelwood) - thanks [MENTION=395]Wenzdayz[/MENTION], I forgot about them. See, Pretoria has all the best burger places :D

RocoMamma's is kind of crap by comparison.

i almost forgot: Hudson's in Parkhurst also do great burgers and for the area their prices are very reasonable. then there is also Wolfpack in the same area whose burgers are also great
