Best GPU for R4000

Hi

I'm looking to upgrade my PC I've pretty much locked down every thing else I want which leaves +/- R4000 for a gpu, which one would you guys recommend ?

If you can muster a little bit more than R4000, get a GTX770 (if they can still get stock). http://www.wootware.co.za/gigabyte-gv-n770oc-2gd-geforce-gtx-770-2gb-gddr5-256-bit-pci-e-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

Otherwise I would suggest saving R1000 more if possible, and get a GTX970 for R5k http://www.wootware.co.za/galax-97nqh6dnb4tx-geforce-gtx-970-exoc-black-edition-4096mb-gddr5-256-bit-pci-express-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html

If you're set on not spending more than R4k, then look at the R9 380 http://www.wootware.co.za/sapphire-radeon-dual-x-r9-380-2gb-gddr5-256-bit-pci-express-3-0-desktop-graphics-card.html. From benchmarks it seems to beat the GTX960, although you can pick one up for R3000.

I would strongly recommend spending R1k extra though and getting a GTX970.

Yeah, I'm very very anti AMD in all respects, so yes I'm very biased.

It always seems to me like there is a "Yes it's faster, but..." scenario with AMD products.

I'm pretty sure that my cards don't have random stutter and slowdowns. Hell, I have six R-300 cards staring down at me right now waiting to be benchmarked. I sure hope none of those have this random slowdown issue.

Do you think I could run Crysis at 1080p on Ultra settings with an R9 390X?

Yes, of course but then again it's a title that was released in 2007? But what about Assassin's Creed Unity?

Spoiler: show

Fanboy arguments always keep me entertained, continue :D

And I'll just leave this here...

What are you trying to point out with the video?

(Ignoring the fact that it's using that brilliant "whistling: PC port Watch dogs)

If you have no wiggle room on the budget then go with the 380. I have the 280 and it's a brilliant card except for the whole driver package (last updated dec 2014 btw). I'll probably upgrade to the 970 later this year.
