Best headset for PS3 - sound and mic

Hi all!

Would like to get a headset for PS3 that has a mic and also allows me to play the game sound through the earphones so my wife does not get pissed off when I got my game on!

Value for money would also be good but need both functions!

Please advise or if there is already a thread send a link.

Try looking at the Logitech F540 wireless headset. Probably retail at around R1100 best guess.

My bluetooth only allows one of the functions, ie only sound for the game or only sound for the mic...

Can't get them working together - Do not think the PS3 supports the dual function for "normal" bluetooth headsets.
 
I think the bluetooth part was for the mic and headset, not headphones and mic type thing. My only issue with the combined ones is that it actually sounds really odd when people talk through the headset and the normal sound.
 
if you want to have crystal clear audio while playing games on your PS3, then there is only one solution. Buy an xbox. hook it up next to you ps3. connect to LIVE. use LIVE party chat to talk to your friends and continue playing games on your PS3.

i own both consoles, so cannot be accused of being a fanboi or xbot :-) but there is no shame in admitting that the PSN is light years behind the LIVE experience.

ok, now that i have gotten THAT off my chest, I use a GioTek headset which is ok. very comfy, but sound is not the best

I also got the Official Stereo Headset a few weeks back. They are very comfortable and the sound quality is great.
