The Game seems to be getting lots of bad reviews... To bad .. but still amped to play it

I've been reading the bad reviews too :( But picking up my copy tomorrow to playthrough over the weekend so I'll judge for myself :)

I never look at the reviews for games since my likes and dislikes is different to others so I wouldn't go by what they say.

Well picked it up on Sunday and finished it earlier this evening.

Honestly I can see why it got bad reviews, as a game it does fall short of things games should do. For instance I struggled quite a bit with just basic controls and fight sequences. I'd often walk into walks because the character would just not turn the way I wanted, or the control was delayed.

The combat was horribly thought out...You have to push in the direction in which Jodie is moving but most of the time you often can't quite see and you don't get enough time to really think about it so you often just get it wrong. Not that it matters anyway as the scene will often end the same way.

Story wise they took an interesting approach with it (I'll leave at that as to not spoil anything for anyone) but it was a lil' disjointed I felt. However Ellen Page did a fantastic job in my opinion, she really did bring Jodie alive :) The choices you can make during the game don't have a massive difference in the over all story line but I do get left with the feeling that I might want to go back and replay some chapters to try make different choices, which is good I suppose.

Graphics I was pretty impressed with. Most of the scenes and character models were very detailed but it still maintained a decent framerate throughout.

Overall I think it's going to be up to the player whether or not they like it. Obviously if you go in expecting a game like Last of Us you're going to be disappointed but if you go in expecting that interactive movie experience like Heavy Rain or Fahrenheit then it's pretty decent :)

A demo for Beyond: Two Souls will arrive on PlayStation Store on Oct. 1 USA and 2 Oct EUR, according to a post yesterday on the PlayStation Blog by Quantic Dream product manager Ross Alexander.

"There will be opportunities for a few of you to get in on Sept. 24 — we'll be announcing those soon," Alexander also revealed.

The demo will include two levels or "scenes" from the game. "Jodie & Aiden" will include a young version of the heroine and take place in the Department of Paranormal Activities. "Hunted" is set years later and follows Jodie as she escapes government agents.

For more on Beyond: Two Souls, which is set for an Oct. 8 release, you can watch the video above, which explains the performance capture process and includes writer/director David Cage as well as actors Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. Be sure to read Polygon's recent interview with David Cage to learn how he hopes he can turn grandparents into gamers.

I played the demo and as beautiful as it is, I will be giving this game a skip. I wanted a Heavy Rain experience from Quantic Dream but they just gave us a semi-interactive movie. Like a point and click adventure.

I really thought that your choices will adversely affect the outcome of the game but it doesn't look like it judging from the reviews. It is a pretty game though and the acting is great, so I think if you play the game with the attitude of "I just want to experience the story instead of controlling/manipulating the game" then you should enjoy it.

Just my thoughts.
