BF4 PC rig

I'm a console player, and my current PC can't play BF4. So with the view of having to buy a new console or two (seeing as my wife also plays BF3/4 with me on her own console), I've been thinking about PC's.

I wanna look into maybe rather building a PC up instead - but I'm a biiig noob in that department? Can you get a Bf4 capable PC, comparable to a PS4 price tag? Without screen of course.

I'm sitting with this same issue. I have a PS3 and migrated from PC to console in 2010 si I'm wondering whether to go Next-Gen console or PC. My thought are that I can spend say R9000 on a mid-high PC box (this is just for the hardware and the case not looking at screen, mouse and keyboard as I have these already) compared to R7000 for a PS4. (I just posted an article in the general section on my thought re console vs PC)

I might pay more now for PC but the games are cheaper compared to the PS4's that'll probably be around R800-900. That said, I now have to look at upgrading as the PC system will be a mid-range one and the Video Card won't last very long (let's say a year) as the newer games will push the capabilities of your card constantly.

I am looking at the following spec PC system: (some stuff like GPU and Hard Drive's will be cheaper as I will probably not go with SSD and the high-end card.)

CPU, MB, RAM:
ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Professional Motherboard
AMD FX 8350 4.0GHZ Eight Core Vishera CPU
Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Gaming RAM
R 5,299.00

GPU:
MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 660 Overclocked Edition 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 Graphics Card
R 2,899.00

SSD Hard Drive:
OCZ Technology VTR1-25SAT3-128G 128GB Vector Series SATA 6.0 GB/s 7 mm Height 2.5-Inch SSD with 95K IOPS And 5-Year Warranty Extreme Solid State Drive
R 1,599.00 (Probably R700 for a normal Hard Drive)

PSU:
CORSAIR Gaming Series GS600 600W ATX 12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
R 999.00

Case:
BitFenix Shinobi White with Window Midi Tower Gaming Chassis
R 699.00

Total: R11 495

These specs are more high-end but it should play BF4 flawlessly.

But if you and your wife play BF together then console will probably be the better option financially.

I record music and do video editing as a hobby so PC makes sense for me at the moment over the PS4.

AMD is a HUGE PLUS with mantle coming out for BF3 so about R6,300~ excluding a OS, it's is going to be a bit tough with a tight budget, unless you are going to transfer your HDD's across as well.

PM The Joker or Wesley (wes is a writer for myG and Joker is a hardware nut) I'll look into a system as well for you so long.\

***EDIT Just something I put together quickly

Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P21 (FX)
CPU: AMD FX 6300 AM3+
GPU: Sapphire HD 7790 2GB
Power Supply: Thermaltake Litepower 550W
Chassis: Coolermaster CMP 102
RAM: Corsair Select DDR3-1333 8GB
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s

That comes in at about R6,200

my reason for going with a HD 7790 it's a awesome card for the price, as well as we could see a boost in performance when AMD launches the Mantle patch for AMD cards in Battlefield 4.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the help and input.

@Joker - I dont have the bucks just yet for a rig or two (prob only in Jan)...so dont waste time on me instead of actual paying customers :D Although I would be interested in what you come up with.

Remember on a console you can only play media. On a PC you can do anything (almost :P). My point is...spend some more cash :P

If you want to go the amd route cpu wise the AMD A8 5600K Trinity Series APU - 3.6GHz Quad Core, Socket FM2, 4MB, HyperTransport Bus, 32nm, Unlocked, is a very nice cpu and depending on what card your going to use you can run it along with the cpu

Why not an A10 5*** or 6***, or an FX series CPU?
