Big current-gen games coming your way

ai...*gen anything is bad news to my ears to be honest. If we're talking previous gen console thats...7 year old tech. If we're talking the yet unreleased gen of consoles were talking 2 year old tech.

Now thats a really hard pill to swallow for any PC enthusiast. e.g

Moore's law is the observation that, over the history of computing hardware, the number of transistors on integrated circuits doubles approximately every two years.

Both consoles will do fine on the market though because the general consumer couldn't identify upscaling to save his life. Neither console has anything resembling PC level performance. Not even close. I mean...un-announced gear being 2 year old PC tech...no amount of spin is saving that.

idk...its difficult to do anything but laugh at the console players. Really the only way to sell it these day is raw convenience.

Convenience is awesome, and to be fair, keeping up with PC performance is really Pricey and They're trying less and less to optimize whereas consoles are capable of some really amazing things when they try. (Last of Us rivals PC)

Realising more and more that graphics don't make the game. It's a nice ad-on. Hours of multi-player fun times (in the same room) with your buddies trumps hours alone (most days). At least that's my opinion. I am an avid PC gamer btw but I'm starting to see things from both sides.

I agree with your post - in so far that graphics don't make the game. It is essentially correct. I can't let that optimize comment stand as as is though - not even close.

Yes console devs optimize the sht out of the available gear. Yes they perform miracles on a regular basis. You're talking about 7 *year* old tech tough in a world that double every 18 *months* (moorse's law) - it doesn't matter how you spin that sht...tech will never be your advantage. So the aim of the game is finding a secondary vantage. See Julia.

So I think this will be appropriate seeing the comments....."whistling: :p

I am both a huge PC gaming and Console gaming fanboy. I like playing games on both. Some games works better on PC (FPS, RTS) and others works better for me on consoles (Sport, Racing, Platform). Graphics are not the be all and end all. The tech is also not the be all and end all of gaming. It's the quality of what you've achieved with that tech and with the graphics capability of the platform that makes a game great.

But you do make valid points.

EDIT:

Anyway back to the topic of the article...it seems that there will be some gaming left for me to do on my current console. Although I have a sneaky suspicion that GTA 5 will be the swansong of my trusty old Xbox...

I like my console, I would also like a quality R20k gaming rig, not gonna happen tho....

To each their own, enjoy your PC and I'll enjoy my console, it's a matter of preference

Havoc why did you comment on this thread if you so butt-hurt over consoles. Some people still enjoy them and are interested in seeing what still being released on the current Gen. My word I would swear you were rapped by the current gen consoles. I like both pc and console, I play on both.
