Bioware forum user can't activate Dragon Age 2 due to forum suspension

This is chiefly the reason I buy the game, download a pirated copy and play that. If you want to treat me like a criminal, I'll act like one!

Oh, wait. I'm pretty sure it's not legal to attach extra conditions one-sided after purchase, to which the buyer never agreed to. Since I never provided EA or BioWare permission to limit the use of my legally acquired software, I'm pretty sure I'm in the clear here.

But then again, they have all the law they can buy, so I'm screwed.

Back to reading books... at least the publishers don't gouge the authors...

AW CRAP!

Enjoy :)

The law would be on his side if he decided to go down that route (consumer protection and all that), it obviously wouldn't be worth the effort though since the suspension is only 72 hours.

He could wait or just create a new user for dragon age, then later ask the admins to combine the accounts :)

Fine, he said something nasty on the forum, ban him from the forum, but not enabling him to play a game he just paid for?
Seems a bit OTT to me.

His dlc is tied to his account.

I would agree that its not the right policy from EA. But the guy agreed to the terms and conditions and should have been aware that he could get banned from his game. Anyway there is no reason to insult the company or developers, been on the forum for ages and they are quite willing to listen to critique there as long as there is no insulting, personal attacks, racism, ect so he really only has himself to blame.

Mmmmm. kinda erks me that he has paid for it and not be able to play. Never happen back in the day :-/

But then again you want to be foolish enough to talk shit on their forums:p

Surely this is a violation of freedom of speech? Yes, suspension from the website is under their own terms, but on open purchase in open market?
