Black Ops 2 revealed

Not bad. Impressive intro. Hopefully not another SSDG scenario this time round.

Black ops uses a different engine to Modern warfare..Just so you guys know.
Apparently the engine being used for Blops II is a New highly tweaked version of the Doom III Engine.

Graphics aside, if the story is as good as Blops I, this game will sell really well, and I see potential for the multiplayer to be fun...Although that's if they incorporate the things in the trailer...So barring the Graphics, this could be a brilliant game.
 
Well I enjoyed Black Ops better than all the Modern Warfares, so I'm really hoping it lives up to my expectations. If you guys are right with the tweaked graphics, that is also huge. They got a lot of kak coz of MW3's lack of graphic progression, so I sicerely hope they learnt from that (imo) blunder.

Actually Black Ops is still running the IW 3.0 engine whereas MW2 was using the IW 4.0 engine.
All the engines are still based on idTech 3, albeit heavily modified over time.

spot on if you play cod 1 and cod 4 you can see the engine is based on the same core, yes they've upgraded the shaders, increased polycount and started using bigger textures etc. but the iw engine is still the old q3 engine no matter how you look at it.


Call of Duty: Black Ops II is currently being developed on what is believed to be a further modified IW 3.0 engine. Texture blending has been improved due to a new technology called "Reveal mapping" which compares tones between two textures and then blends them together. Also, there have been upgrades to the lighting engine which include HDR capability, intersecting shadows and various other improvements.
 
Not gonna lie, I'm pretty disappointed that they ditched the Cold War era. That was a pretty fresh IP. The future.... not so much :P
 
Still a dated Engine. This game has died for me. I cant even remember what compelled me to buy MW3 when it came out anyway. And yet every year Activision will just keep reaping the rewards. World at War was the last really decent COD in the series for me. Everything nowadays is being ported from console which is just sad for PC gaming.

If they make new engine they will earn much more money :D

actualy I get bored because every COD game from COD 2 have very similar engine...

Hope COD 10 will get new, much better engine. I think unreal engine 4 or Cry Engine 3 would be very cool.
 
I really don't know what on earth can convince me to ever want to buy another CoD game again, especially this new Black Ops. My last CoD game purchase is and will remain MW3, only reason I got MW3 was because of the story - but now there is absolutely no reason to buy another CoD game again :)
 
If the story is gonna be anything like the first one then I'm already confused. I still look back on the first black ops and say Dafuq.
