Though I do enjoy the progression and loot ("grind", but uhg do I hate that word), I always enjoy the over-the-top epics that Blizzard deliver. They are always part of the fun for me.

It doesn't bother me, each to his own. It is what it is, a grind. But some games like Diablo I find the grind fun. It does imply pointlessness so agree with you, its not really a grind if you enjoy it, is it? For me WoW is a grind, the game really starts once you max out, and once you've leveled one character you don't really want to do it again. Well at least I didn't.

This is pretty much what I meant. Grinding implies tedium or boredom. I found that I had to grind in MMOs. I don't feel like Diablo is a grind, even when levelling up characters.

I think its Diablo 3's fault that I like grim Dawn so much! Never played the first two, but got D3 for a good price.... Later learned of Grim Dawn. Both are great games and would really like more Diablo!
