Bloodborne: the official thread

Just got the rifle spear, such a badass weapon but I still prefer the kirkhammer. Got my eye on this greatsword looking weapon in the store, but it's 20000 amd then I also need another 10000 for a key to a gate in the Chapel area. Guess it's time for some farming...

I'm also using the Kirkhammer. Enjoy switching between the fast sword and slow but powerful hammer, depending on the enemy.

The Greatsword would be the natural upgrade from the Kirkhammer. Since it probably uses a similar mechanic.

Yeah, the Kirkhammer is the best so far. Just got mine up to +4 now.

I also got the greatsword now as well and you're right, it works pretty much the same when in single handed mode and very similar to greatswords in the Souls games in two-handed mode. The kirkhammer still does more damage but it's a great secondary weapon.

I'm still on the starting axe and pistol :(

and still can't upgrade anything cause I keep losing my blood echoes

interesting new... "feature" that monsters can now pick up your echoes after they kill you so you have to kill them to get it back. no more run and flee to get them back

Had my first co-op session today. Used the Small Resonant Bell and helped two other people take down the Blood-starved Beast. Was kinda easy taking down the boss with 3 people.

Anyone know how the invasions work? I don't think you can get invaded at will.

Well that's it for tonight, I feel I at least accomplished something. Tomorrow night I'm alone and gonna pull a long haul.

Why I love these games, the feeling of elation! \[T]/

Just started Bloodborne tonight!

The Good:
Love the fluid combat

The Bad:
Too early to comment on gameplay issues.

The Ugly:
Did anybody else have noticeable light artifacting and reflection issues in the very first area, with all the hospital beds? That area looked terrible. Outside looks better though

after some intense gaming and swearing, I made a lot of progress last night... well, what qualifies as a lot in this game. finally made it to the first boss and did really well for my first attempt. quite confident I can take him out on our second encounter.

some of my frustration was partly my own fault. I haven't played Dark Souls in so long that it seems I had forgotten how the map layouts work. so it's getting better now that I have remembered to look for shortcuts, not Lanterns :D

My fight last night with Father Gascoigne. I'm still feeling so high right now from beating that. I probably attempted him abour 20 times I would guess and a total of around 3 hours. I really struggled with this but when I finally beat him, oh man.... the elation \o/

I saw you guys online playing last night BeoTeK MalicE so much jelly... This game looks amazing!

Beo That vid was awesome!!!

This is what is so varied about this game and the beauty of it, how you (or the game) adapt to the situation. I've read and heard people taking Gascoigne out on their second attempt and here I really battled and thought I was doing something wrong. But on the other hand, some people really struggled with Cleric Beast and spend hours on, where I finished him/her off on my second attempt.

The beauty of a Miyazaki game!

so am i the only one who experienced rather unattractive last gen visuals in the opening Sickroom area ? :(

Perhaps the only one who cares? [emoji14]

Seriously though, the game doesn't look that great in my opinion and I'm also noticing quite a bit of framerate issues. Luckily it doesn't make the game unplayable.

I would have loved it if it looked better and more importantly performed better, but it doesn't change the fact that the game is brilliant.

Beat that hunter boss quite tricky when he goes mad.I just love this game really diverse enviroments.I also love the weapons. You really can not play this game like the souls series,I was getting my ass kicked until I started dodging more.I also like how the game is getting darker and darker.

My advice to new comers is learn to dodge and gun parry those two things will help you out big time.I almost crapped myself last night in the sewers lol, damn crow dogs.

Co-op in this game is damn awesome. Been playing a lot with a friend as well as randoms these past 2 days. It's so much fun ganging up on the tougher enemies and bosses. I've beaten 2 new bosses with other people that I still have to kill in my own game. My friend and I also took out an invader earlier, was awesome even though the invader seemed outmatched against us. He did almost no damage to me and I killed him in 4 or 5 hits. Maybe it has to do with my friend being in the low 20's and my character being lvl 42.
