Borderlands 2 Now Highest-Selling 2K Game Ever

Borderlands 2 has shipped more than 8.5 million copies, making it the highest-selling game in 2K Games' history. The news came out of an Take-Two Interactive earnings call where it was also reconfirmed that new content for Borderlands 2 is still on the way.

In its opening months, Borderlands 2 shipped 5 million copies, meaning that the extra 3.5 million copies were shipped over the course of more than a year.

First released in fall 2012, Borderlands 2 is slated to come to Vita later this year courtesy of developer Iron Galaxy Studios. It will also be bundled with the Bethesda-published Dishonored on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on February 11 in North America for $29.99 US.

Hmmm I wonder of that 8.5 million includes the people that "bought" it via PS+ free months?

With that said, I did enjoy the game very much. Just stoped playing the day they released the second set of level's outside of the season pass. <--- still think that was a dick move, as the 1st borderlands included all 71 levels in the GOTY edition.

Well done Gearbox and 2K!!!! I have put in about 40 hours on PS3 and 245 (and counting) on PC and I'm really looking forward to the Vita version as well. It has become my second favourite game of all time as well.

Don't really mind that there is DLC outside the season pass, even though I did get the season pass pretty much the day I got the game. They were very clear from the start what would be in the season pass and I got more than my money's worth. I also got all the other DLC, except the cosmetic items, and I am not disappointed by any of it either.

Look I don't mind the extra content outside of Season Pass, what I do mind is that the level cap was outside of the pass. They did this purely to make money. Enhancing the game with content is something totally different to level caps.

LOL. Yeah I want to try to get to 500 hours eventually, still need to max out all my characters. Only have a lvl 72 Krieg, the rest are at about 35 - 40. I get where you're coming from with the level cap outside the pass, but it was worth the money I paid for it so I can't really complain.
