even tho this is a tragic event, I find it very annoying that the way the article is written to make you believe that it was his "addiction" CSS that caused this, could have been an article from the beeld or some other sensualist newspaper for all I know, Its bull, there could have been many other reason that made him capable of doing this, many gamers use games as a way of escaping the troubles of the real world,

It's people like that that give, not only games and gamers a bad name, but human kind as a whole.

Personally, I dont think that the claims made against gaming are complete hogwash.

I do think that games can have an adverse effect on gamers, but not to the point where you stab ur mother and or gun down your fellow pupils and students like with the Columbine incident.

In fact, where Columbine is concerned, it was the music that those guys listened to that got them doing that, not games. Music is very powerful, I guess they got swept away with what they were into, and that content contained killing/murder. I dont recall the song, but the content of the lyrics of a particular song was exactly what they carried out that day, there is evidence of those guys actually speaking the lyrics while they were doing the killing.

Basically, regardless of whether its music or games that are to blame, its what entered and what was entertained in their imagination that led to their actions.

Murders, adultery, theft etc come from the heart. The greek translation for heart is Dianoia - meaning imagination.

Not the music they were listening to as I listen to some of the stuff and heaver shit that that. It has to do with the person's state of mind and the environment. Those people were bullied at school and they were pushed to the limits. Constant teasing and just being pushed aside is a terrible thing and can damage certain people. The only music that can lead to violence imo is that noe-nazi stuff about white power and eliminate the other races.

I disagree with you bro, it all starts with the persons state of mind, his parents never raised him proply or his peers mess with him, I'm a prefectly level headed person, I listen to a bit of slipknot, played the airport mission in MW2 and played all the GTAs and I havn't the slightest intent to kill anybody, (except thieves and robbers who attack me or my family, but can you blame me for that?) These forms of media are just scape goats for a deeper problem that won't get the person out of prison

Thats what I said. I agree I was playing mortal kombat back in 93 when I was four And I have never been in a fist fight nor done a fatality to my mom.:D

madness i say, How can u not notice ur kid has gaming addiction,when he has missed 200+ days of school. Parents need to be more strict with kids. Parents should give kids some good old hiding if they don't listen.
