brand preference.... is it silly ?

I go for best bang for buck. Genereally look at warranties and features and value for money. Brands don't matter that much.

Only brand I wont buy is samsung when it comes to cdrom/dvdrom drives. I had a game disc burst into pieces with one of their cd rom drives. Like their screens thought.

Dont just blame that drive though, that cd had to be a bit weak.
I also like their screens, their cheap, reliable and sexy. Just slighly wierd cos my 22" is about 1cm bigger (height wise) than my 23", but they are diffrent models.

Brands have never been a big fuss to me. Although I do prefer going with previous brands, I've always been an Nvidia supporter but looking at getting a new card now I'm going to be switching over to ATI.

I havent owned an intel since my pentium 266MHz MMX and still have no intention of going back, even though i7 is the cats mew it sparks no intrest in me, I think AMD have succeeded in brainwashing this gamer.

Don't think so. I have heard of other people experiencing the same.
