Thats a very high recommended requirement to be i5. Kinda shocking that the recommended are getting so high. I mean I have the i5 cpu but I thought it would last a lot longer before I see it appear on recommended. O well
It's just that they finally starting to do the PC requirements right for change, in the past minimum requirements usually gave you crappy graphics and crappy performance and really wasn't useful at all. With the min requirements today you basically get graphics quality/performance equal to that of the Xbox360.
• Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
• 2GB RAM
• NVIDIA 8800GS / AMD Radeon HD 2900 Pro
• Windows XP (SP3)/Vista/Windows 7
• 8GB free HDD space
I also have nothing against AMD but for the price that you are paying for your hardware i would get the intel stuff. The sandy bridge even beats the 6core AMD chips. For the price of the i7 2600k and the i5 2500k there is no better choice in my eyes. Besides, you have got Nvidia cards and they go so much better with intel, dont you agree?![]()
I recall a test on either TomsHardware or AnandTech of ATI GPU's performing better on intel chips and Nvidia Performing better on AMD.![]()
