Britain's Prince Harry, who compared shooting insurgents in Afghanistan to playing video games, "has probably developed a mental problem", the Taliban said Tuesday.

"There are 49 countries with their powerful military failing in the fight against the mujahideen, and now this prince comes and compares this war with his games, PlayStation or whatever he calls it," Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid told AFP.

First of all, this is some more sensationalistic BS to smudge the name of the gaming industry. But underlying, there's something really disturbing about this article.

The fact that people compare games to real war in any way just shows you how desensitized people has become towards things like waging ACTUAL war against other people of this world.

For me, personally, all I could think about whilst reading this article is how stupid war really is. World governments invest billions into waging wars. Wars will never be the answer to anyone's problems. Preemptive war is just as bullshit as any other war. Why waste so much money when you could be funding medical research or space exploration missions?

I hate this shit.

Well based on this. I can see where the people that blame video game's for violence come from. He obviously thought it was just a game killing those people. BUT video games aren't the only one's to blame. Music, movies, tv series all of them are guilty in one way or another.

Everything we do as a race dude. Our whole attitude towards the whole damn planet we live on, and our own species, has to do with it.

This. And don't get me wrong I'm not blaming video games for all the violence. But I get what they are saying.

But then again, "they" partake in just as many acts of war as this one prince. Everyone always has something to say about everything to try and justify themselves. It's a never-ending cycle of bullcrap.

So killing people from an apache gunship is like a game to him? He really isn't right in the head.

So the Taliban is now commenting on the royal family? Don't they have some drugs to smuggling across borders or an EOD to build or something?

Would be to me too, they are literally blips on a screen. In the seat of a gunship I would imagine the person being very detached, you dont really see the effects of your bullets except for the fact that the blips stop moving.

Never heard of an air crew needing mental help after conflict ever. Always the guys on the ground.

Until you realise those blips you just killed are people that had a life and a family...

Come on ya'll just jealous.
I mean it would be cool if i was a co-pilot, we complete the mission by killing all tagets.
You land near the defeated Enemy, you teabag them, then in your english accent , "Would you like some scones with your tea".

How much fun!

Off course war from the air looks like a video game. You have a control pad, a small screen to glare at and targets that pop up and you take them out. Sounds just like any flight sim I have ever played.

Some of these pilots are very disconnected from the field. I was talking to UAV pilot and he told me that he only flys the drone during take off and landing, the rest of the flying is done back in America or Briton.
Then you take the fact that those cameras can zoom in so well and you can fire a rocket from outside the enemies effective range, the aren't very in sync with the field.

However saying all that and how it may very well be true his view, its offensive to the men out there on the ground. I've seen the videos some of those soldiers have made using a go pro and that stuff is scary.
