Broken games

I cant remember what my topic was for this week so lets go with broken games.

We all have had those games just dont want to work on your pc.
Like witcher 2 just run so bad on my pc,
yet I have over 150 hours in witcher 3 and it just run perfectly.
 
Final Fantasy VII: I was well into the game when it just kept crashing after a specific cut scene.

Beyond Good and Evil:I was never able to defeat the last boss due to the game crashing half way through the fight.
 
Kingdoms of Amalur. It just kept crashing, no way I was going to be able to play it for the MyGame.
 
Not really broken but these games don't wanna work on my PC, no matter what I try:

Ghost Recon Future Soldier: It runs for 5 minutes and then just crashes back to windows.
Thief: Looks like a laggy powerpoint presentation
L.A. Noire: Doesn't even launch. Shows splash screen for 5 seconds and then nothing.
 
In the recent MyGame where we played Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, I encountered a game stopping bug. The main quest couldn't progress so I either had to restart or stop playing. I stopped playing.

Another game that I had problems with in the past is Warlock: Master of the Arcane. The game would just crash for me every couple of minutes. When I first started the game it was fine but the further I got the more frequent the crashes. So much so that it was unplayable. So, I thought I would start a new game... and unfortunately that didn't fix it. I went to their forums and there were other players who had the same problem and yet the developers have abandoned the game because at the time they were working on the sequel. It's a damn shame because I quite enjoyed it. Ended up leaving a bad review.
 
Games I tried to run recently that just failed to run:

Dirt Showdown
GTA IV

Common denominator? GFWL. I couldn't get it working no matter how hard I tried.

Special mention to Spec Ops The Line, which took me 3 hours to get running after encountering numerous startup freezes for no reason. I still get the freezes, but at least I can play it a bit.

Do you have an amd gpu? Trying closing raptr or any of their related overlay apps. I remember having such an issue in one the previous drivers.

For Spec Ops? Nope, it's a laptop with a GTX 970m. I tried every recommendation available online and even a bunch of other things I could think of. It's ok though, almost done with the game then I can put the issues behind me.
 
The one that drives me mental is Diablo 3. It seems every season there is something that kills the game for me. This season I get kicked out of the game to the character select randomly. Its madness, either during a greater rift - and when I do it solo I loose the fracking key. So I only play multiplayer so that I can at least rejoin and get loots.

I have to say I am impressed that no one has shouted at me for swearing so much on either TS or Discord :P
 
Thief... the "Oh cool I can run at Ultra on your machine" albiet at 30fps (because "cinematic"); fiddle with settings now runs at 75+fps but stutters; Fiddle more with settings, looks crap runs 140+ fps and stutters.

Oh okay definitely not the same issue that I had then. Hopefully you get the solution anyway :).
