I'm looking for a 32-40" tv to game on. I don't have a lot to spend so I must go as cheap as possible. I'm looking to get either sony, Samsung or LG. I was looking at the following deal

http://www.makro.co.za/p/31666/samsu...ull-hd-led-tv/

It's a bit much but if it's worth the price I can go for it. I can also get this tv for R3K but afraid it lacks the features I might need.

Currently I'm using an ASUS VE247H monitor that I connect to my ps3 via HDMI but I feel TV's will give me better experience.

I got a Sinotec 39" LCD tv for my xbox and just playing media from the PC for like R2999 from pick and pay a month or 2 back. Checked it against the Samsungs and LGs and it was darn impressive, the Samsung demo video was playing on it. Didnt need all the extra stuff the other TVs have. Full HD, has 2 HDMI ports and a USB port which can power a raspberry pi perfectly unlike the LG and Telefunken LED tvs i tried it on.

So my suggestion is have a look at the Sinotec range, i think i saw the 39" LED version for R3799 which aint that bad. Just ask the store people to play viable media on it, like one of the demo videos for Samsung or LG to see if its worthwhile.

I use the Samsung 32" EH6030 and very happy with it for gaming and other stuff and cost me R4599, cause I wanted 3d so the one without 3d should be between 3-4k.

At 32" the question of 720p vs 1080p doesn't matter, as you will not see any difference at all. With TV's I'd say, take one that has an HDMI cable for the console, and maybe FHD if it's over 32". The rest really is not going to make the world's difference unless you have the eyes of a military trained scout eagle.

I can see the difference between 720p and full hd on a 23" so I bet on a tv I would be able to see it. Hisense looks like a good alternative. I just scared of it cause it'z not a very well known brand.

I just use the good old fallback .... Teljoy. You end up paying more after 3 years but when it comes down to "I have to have nothing for a while coz it's too pricy" versus "I'm getting it nao!", I will take the latter.

erm Hisense is a well known brand, they have the whole hisense vision club thing going in the FNB stadium I believe where sometimes the concert tickets cause more than the golden circle :-/

ok will look for specials on a 32"-40" Hisense then. in a way it makes sense to me going for a Hisense rather than Sony, LG or Samsung.

I've battled with this same predicament. Heard a lot of bad things about the hisense's, teljoys, telefunkens etc and was weary about it. Also, I admit I'm kinda a spec whore and in my heart of hearts I knew I wouldn't be satisfied with a non lg, sony, samsung tv. I got an lg 32' and was very satisfied. Just my 2c

Not sure whereabouts you're based, but saw a brochure from The Digital Connection today with a Samsung 32" LCD for +/-R2,900.

Yeah on 42" in Full HD isn't really necessary. Most PS3 games are 720p. I can only think of one that I played that was 1080p . Super Stardust 3D. Bigger then 42" in look into Full HD, below HD ready.

Well this is not only for my ps3 also for ps4 when it ccomes out. And GT5/6 is 1080p 60fps. and if you can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p then you must have really bad eyes.

How do you see this? I have a 40" Sony Bravia set on 1080p. When ever I play games its automatically scales down to 720p. (Resolution of the source)

And if you want a TV for your PS4 then personally I believe next gen should be enjoyed on 46'' minimum.. Full HD :)

How about we stick to my original question. I don't have the money right now for a 46" and I might connect my pc to the screen. I watch 1080p movies and play my pc games on 1080p. like I said GT5/6 is 1080P.

I know about the downscale resolution. I just know that a tv is better for consoles than a monitor cause I've seen it with my own eyes. My brother have a tv so did compare it.

Ok, But keep in mind it would be better to look at a HD Ready 39-40 inch then full HD on a smaller screen you will waste your money.
Picture quality also differs from brand to brand. One brands 42" HD ready can have better quality then another brands 42" Full HD.

I think HiSense is manufactured by GAME.
I'm also very specific on quality and would rather pay extra knowing I'm getting my moneys worth plus receiving a warranty makes me feel more at ease.
