Wow, USB3 makes quite the difference. That Asus addon card is looking more and more appealing now.

Wow, USB3 makes quite the difference. That Asus addon card is looking more and more appealing now.

It's pretty epic technology, if your motherboard has USB 3.0 ports as well that is. If you just bought an i7 setup and your motherboard doesn't have USB 3.0 on it, it's really not worth the hassle of upgrading again. Having said that though, USB 3.0 will be the new standard from here on out, and it's a pretty good outlook on things :)

Edit: Do you know what that Asus Add-on card costs locally?

The add-on will be around R600. Hopefully it'll drop to below R400 later this year.
 
just finished the read, quite impressive, not the drive, but the extra throughput you get.

I'll look for the linky, but i read a review on a USB 3.0 SSD Drive non-production model somewhere, the speeds were mind bogglin.
