basically to get a foothold.i need a balanced rig that will hold thru a few years.problem is i don't know the newest hardware that's out or where the best prices might be in my local area so might upgrade a few things like graphics card etc after the PC is build.

Well if you are upgrading parts each month the things you want to be upgrading are going to be the cheaper things.
Do you need a monitor and new version of Windows?
So things you should go big on now would be
case
cpu
motherboard
psu
gpu
Ram, optical drives and hdd can be cheap unless you want to spend big bucks on it but that is not advisable at first as it isn't really necessary.

ignore him he's just spamming

not a bad price for such a setup but just remember amd is bringing out new tech soon so to be foolproof i would rather suggest going for an i5 or i7 sandybridge cpu and mobo ! I also have amd systems at home 2 quad cores and i can guarantee you the k10 architecture is starting to fall behind at present

I would say rather get
i7 2600K + decent motherboard (What have you chosen for the AMD ?)
4GB DDR3 so long since you upgrading again soon
The 560 Ti 1GB is nice as well

I'd go with :

Gigabyte Z68X-UD4
i7 2600k
8gb Matched kit of Kingston Hyper X Blu Genesis (2 x 4gb)
Gigabyte 560 TI
Coolermaster CM690 II Advanced (or any case really that tickles your fancy)
Raidmax 730w Modular PSU

Maybe an SSD if you can afford it.

Intel Core i7-2600K (3.4GHz, 8M Cache, 8x Cores) Overclocked to 4.6GHz Per Core CPU
ASUS P8P67 Pro (B3) P67 LGA 1155 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Motherboard
NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti Overclocked Edition 1GB 256bit DDR5 DX11 Graphics Card
8GB DDR3 1600MHz High Performance Gaming RAM With Heat Spreader
1TB Western Digital Caviar Black 7200RPM 64MB Cache SATA3 6.0Gb/s Hard Drive
Antec TruePower TP-750 Blue 750W 80+ Modular Gaming Power Supply
Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator 6 Heatpipe with 140mm/120mm Dual SSO Bearing Fans CPU Cooler
NZXT Phantom Professional Gaming Case
24x Dual Layer DVD +/- Writer
Integrated 8 CH High Defination Sound Card
Integrated Gigabit LAN Card

total:R 12,899.00

how does the i72600k preform VS one of the i7 9x0 cpu?

also looking at parts and it's either 2600 or 9x0 since prince difference is not that much...

Yes really difficult to give advice when there's nothing to start off with. I would not get a phenom atm. AMD doesn't change their mobos that often so if you are planning on doing upgrades over time rather start with something like an AM3+ mobo and DDR3 ram. I think all the newer ones supports Bulldozer when it comes out but just make sure.

What do you have now?

Going intel and nvidia route:

cpu: Intel Core i7 950 CPU - 2396.00

mb: ASUS P6T SE X58 Motherboard- 2121.00

ram: Corsair XMS3 6GB DDR3-1600 Kit (3x2GB) - CL9 XMP - 735.00

psu: eXtreme Power Plus 700W - 735.00

gpu: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB FPB - 2466

Total:8466.00

If you haven't already, send your compnents list to rebeltech, they will do you the best price on earth. [email protected] or browse their site yourself if ya have the time. Id recommend starting with just 4gb RAM as you can always throw in another stick or two if you want later on. Spend big on mobo and CPU. And don't get a cheapy psu. Rather get a smaller watt quality psu. I had an ocz psu that rocked my world. Now I have a raidmax that doesn't. It's alright and does the job I suppose. But I'd love to have that ocz back :)
