C&C 4 Tiberian Twilight 1st Impressions By Broadside

Think I'm going to skip this title, a lot of stuff has changed, and apparently the story doesn't sound like it's worth it either...

I havn't managed to play this yet but reviews have not been great. Gamespot gave it 7.0/10 but that seems optimistic when you compare it to what people in the beta are saying. Just having a trawl around the C&C4 Beta forum I stumbled across a thread entitled ''Summarise C&C4 in one word''. most of the words were not pleasant.

Dawn Of War: Chaos Rising has been seeing some good reviews, but it's probably worth it to hold out for SC2 (despite the fact that its going to cost like R1300 just to get all the single player campaigns which have somehow managed to take more than 10 years to make) :-(

IMO R.U.S.E. may provide the most innovative and original RTSing we will see this year.

Well i dunno, i guess if you have played the whole of the cnc series, then i guess it wont hurt just getting the final game just to complete the saga. I mean u have come this far already, the co-op campaign sounds really kewl considering it is a team based game.

I can't say that I agree with that argument. Unless you are a die-hard follower of the C&C series and a completist, I don't see the sense in buying
a game which is said to be substandard merely to complete one's collection. The again, it may not be quite as poor as the critics are making it out to be.
It may even be fun to play, even if it has been dumbed down.

So whats the verdict boys? Yes or no?

And i dont want to hear wait for Starcraft 2. Every single person on the planet with more than 2 brain cells will get Starcraft 2(oky maybe a bit over the top). So should i get this?

So should i get this?

Ask yourself the following questions

Do you like Dawn of War's gameplay ? (If No, then don't get it)
Do you like upgrading lots of stuff ? (If No, then don't get it)
Do you have a 24/7 active internet connection ? (If No, then don't get it)

Do you realize that if you get this game the internet community will not be as populated as Sc2?
Do you know that there will be almost no competitiveness inside this game?

Are you buying this only for the singleplayer? (If No, then you will be slightly dissapointed, if yes, you will also probably be slightly dissapointed...)

i got it and i am pissed as i cant play the dam thing. It doesnt want to get connection to there server although i am connected to the internet.

I agree with the general opinion that cnc died with westwood. cnc3 was a good follow up, but cnc4 never exists in my mind.

I think the designers have lost focus on what cnc was all about - tiberium.

I played the beta and actually enjoyed it for two weeks. Other than the slap-in-the-face way they killed the tiberium story arc, the epic fail conclusion of Kane, the 'persistent online' requirement, the pop cap, lack of base building and tiberium and the label C&C, I think the game has some potential. ^^
