Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Black Screen of death!!! HELP!!!

I just bought the Super Slim PS3 GTA V bundle. It comes with 500GB hard drive, so storage space is not an issue!

I first installed GTA V and updated it and I could play GTA V with the GPS glitch comment #148 on http://mygaming.co.za/forum/showthread.php/33702-The-Official-I-m-playing-GTA-5-Thread/page15

Anyways, after playing GTA V, I inserted my Black Op 2 disc and the game asked to update, which I did. After the update finished, the console restarted itself.

I then went into Black Ops 2 which showed me the initial screens showed Dolby, then Treyarch, then Activision. After Activision I get the BLACK SCREEN OF DEATH.

This is what happens during the black screen:
- if I press on the controller buttons the game makes a sound
- if I press the PS button the XMB loads up and if I press the PS button again the console shows the loading circle on the top right hand corner

This is what I tried to fix the problem but ALL never worked:
- switch console on and off
- disconnect from the internet
- delete updates and install updates again!
- delete updates and try to play game without updating!
- disable media server
- wipe the disc clean!

TRIED all of this and it never worked!!!

PLEASEEE HELP!!!!!

Something I noticed that's missing from the things you tried is searching on Google. Have you done that yet? :D (Just checking)

I have the same problem. Everythings was OK, but since the last update, BO2 freezes before the DOLBY logo screen. It freezes at the treyarch logo and i must reboot ps3 and it chech the files and it refreezes. If i remove the patch, it works, but not online. Please, anyone, or ACTIVISION, help US!!!

*ATTENTION* I had this problem but i have successfully fixed it and if you are still having this problem then listen up!

*FIX* On the XMB (PS3 Home Screen) go to Game --> Game Data Utility --> find the CallofDuty: Black Ops II files and delete all of them in the Game Data Utility. What this will do is delete your expansions and any downloaded game data. Now, you will need to redownload the expansion packs and install them. What i believed this did was rewrite the files causing the game to work.

ps. My clan members have had this problem as well and they fixed it using various other methods. (Toothpaste on their CD's and what not) I cannot remember all of them, but i do advise listening to some of the things mentioned in the About section on this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCkzUWY8mQs

If the fix i mentioned below does not work, then i am sorry, but the problem i had was not with the CD but the stored files on my playstation, i am confident that i forced turned off my PS3 while it was doing something to cause this or it was the updates.. can't remember which came first...

also download the expansions through the Playstation store, rather than in game, cos you will just get black screened. Its fairly obvious but just mentioning it to those who might have not realised.

Hope this helps.
