Call of Duty Black Ops Recieved

Hey guys. Did any one get a copy of Black Ops yet? How is the game? Did anyone get Black Ops that does not have Mweb account? eg. Vodacom 3G. How does it run? Post some screens please. I am only getting mine later today. Going to see what its like on a vodacom 3G account. I hope its not kak.
 
Um you know you will be chucked onto an Intl server if you use your Vodacom 3G because Mweb decided not to sign with MTN, Vodacom and Telscum (Suprise!!!!!) :p

Well from what i have heard is that Vodacom has signed with Mweb already. That is why i am asking how it runs with vodacome 3G.
 
This is what my friend said this morning after I fired some questions his way

At the moment no sa servers are online, only international 300+ ping servers.

The game has some bugs to iron out, but thats expected for a new release. You can set your FOV, MAXFPS and all those things.

Sounds are a bit arb, ppl will be firing their guns rather closeby and sometimes you can't even hear a team mate firing an Ak right next to you, sounds like a silent weapon. The sounds are a bit muffled, with a very "mono" type sound allround. And sometimes the directional positioning of the sounds don't work. Also explosions sound a bit meh. Nothing here patches can't sort out though.

Other than that the game feels good. Pacing is good, hitreg (even with lag) is very good, and the game itself runs just about as good as MW2 dit, but looks better. it doesn't have that full on consoley feeling that mw2 had.

He is a Premier league cod4 player, and we are good mates so I trust his judgement.

I'm installing after work to deliver my verdict.
 
I would have gotten mine today but my delivery address was set to my work. I'm stuck at home with the flu so won't get it till tomorrow. :(

A game with the level of Hype around it like Blops should not have bugs, and those it does have should to be few and far between. The sound issue also speaks of lack of polish IMO.

Thing is, I don't think Treyarch have really clued up sound engineers.
COD5 suffered from exactly the same sound issues on the initial release and earlier versions. Clannies were horrible. You would be shot at and litteraly not even know it, I'm not kidding. We even did a test on 1.3 or 1.4 I think where my friend stood no more than 10 meters from me firing an entire pistol clip at me without me hearing a single bullet, and vice versa. Took them 7 Patches to sort it out :|

Sad sad story. I know everybody is going to hate this example but publishers and developers should take notes from Bungie when it comes to releasing a much hyped title. Most Halo releases have been mosty bug free and the first update is normally for the sole purpose of balancing the MP. That is how it should be for all titles. Too many devs simply ship a title and leave some crucial bugs/glitches/issues to be corrected in patches.

Another good example is MGS4, the game is what 2 years old and when playing it Saturday for the first time there was not a single update for it. I was dumbfounded.

Game is awesome in my opinion. The lag issue is something that will be fixed pretty quickly. What gets me is why don't they launch the servers a few days in advance to sort out launch issues and have all the servers up and running?
 
The game is brilliant,finished it on the xbox and pc and busy with a 2nd playthrough on the pc.Well worth getting for the single player alone!!!

Single player is really good, with the exception of a few hair pulling moments. The are some seriously stunning events, both artistically and viscerally. Treyarch really outdid themselves. I haven't even touched the zombie mode yet. :D
