Call of Duty Elite - paid subscription service revealed

Because other games already have these for free? Ah, if only other companies hadn't messed this up for 'ol Bobby.
 
i reckon this is a serious off putting what wouldve been part of the package you already brought, ie the actual game, ur now getting less and having to pay for the stuff u shouldve had, they not adding anything, they simply taking it away and offering it back with a price, started with DLC, now this

Yeah if only people stoped buying dlc just because this trend might have not happened so fast. But seeing as people buy models for guns for R50 its no wonder this is starting to happen.

How can they charge a monthly fee for a FPS?
But you can play without paying it! Whatever! All the servers are going to be using the other pay to play maps!
So you just wont be able to join!
 
I'm glad I abandoned CoD when I did.

The most upsetting part is that some people will probably lap it up, starting off a very downward trend.
 
The video looks awesome, for obvious sales reasons. BUT! BUTtocks! Yeah I'm not impressed, there's got to be more, want to make it worth paying for the service? Well implement personalized soldiers! You get to create your own unique looking soldier... COME ON! Brink did it. Call of Duty isn't trying anything new. I'm going back to Brink now :)

This exactly, glad battlefield 3 is coming out around the same time.
 
I will decide on my future in the COD stable based upon more info received of "elite".


If I'm going to be able to play for free, Fine, im cool with that.

If it's matchmaking based without dedicated servers (sounds like that from reading into it sofar) and or I have to pay for weapons, maps, skins etc monthly, then Blackops is my Last COD :)
 
Whoever still buys this game is a complete idiot. Really, there can't be so many sheep out there, stop lining Activisions greedy pockets people. Seriously. :/

@ Plassie Thats what I'm thinking. Maybe create a class will only be available to Elite subscribers. I mean, they're going to shaft us somehow.

And what happens to you after CoD? Do you like ascend into heaven or what? :p
