Hey Forumers

I wanted to know if I could put a Vishera CPU in an ASUS M5A97 Pro Mobo.

Also, is it worth the extra cash getting an octocore Vishera or should I just hit up a quadcore.

Yeah you're board does support Vishera. You'll just need to make sure you update the bios to the latest one.
As for getting a 8 core...in short...Hell Yeah :D

Vishera? What the? Never heard of it... Is it like intel or something?

Ah nevermind uncle google helped me :)

Sorry meant to say its bad at multicore scaling not threading. Btw that review has nothing to do with the crappy bulldozer architecture I was talking about :) . Any of those cpu's will have more or less the same gpu scaling so the fps is supposed to be +/- the same. If you check the cpu vs cpu review of fx 8350 vs 3570k you will see what I mean :) (posting from my phone, can't give u any links).

I know what you mean mate, and I know what you're talking about :D
Vishera is a big step up from Bulldozer though and I have used both.

I would def recommend Vishera, where as I wouldn't have recommended bulldozer when it launched.
