Large rats that attack in packs are terrorising residents of a Cape Town hostel, the Cape Argus reported on Wednesday.
Lundi Galanda, of the Dura Hostel in Langa, told the newspaper they could hear rats scratching their front door at night.
"Their eyes are lit up like the headlights of a car. They are like vampires because they only come out at night. They have eaten their way through the metal door... there is nothing they won't get through," she said.
