Hey guys I need to upgrade my case and cooling. I decided to go with the CM Hyper 212X and now I am stuck for case. I really like the Corsair Carbide Spec 03 but not sure if it will fit. Corsair site says it supports a max cooler height of 157mm and I think the Hyper 212X is around 160mm. Can anyone recommend another case and is the Hyper 212X the right choice. My budget for the case is +/- R1000.000.

I'd test the fit first if the difference is that small, it might be possible to mod your case to get it to fit also.

Did you Youtube it? Sounds silly but there are lots of vids of the 212 installations on Youtube and you might find the case you looking at in the installation.

I found a corsair c70 vengeance in white, so I am going with that getting it for R1k so I am happy now thanks for the help guys much appreciated.

Great case. I saw this image of internal temperatures vs ambient temperatures and the C70 had one of the coolest internal temps.

Well according to Prophecy PC the corsair c70 vengeance is discontinued, so I got the NZXT Phantom 410 in gun metal instead. Will to upload pics tomorrow, haven't finished assembly yet.

Another good case, based on reviews, and benchmarks, is the Antec 1100(Eleven hundred). Keeps things very cool. Also supports a 170mm CPU cooler IIRC.

It's really a pleasure to build in. I did all the cable management and installed a couple of new fan last night got lazy to finish :D up, just need to install motherboard and fire her up and dial in the overclock to really see how good the Hyper 212X is.

Finally Done! Guys please mind the bad picture quality and my lack of photography skills.

Constructive criticisms is welcome and will be appreciated.

Im not to sure about the red, blue and green colour scheme but it's looking good. Maybe look into swapping the front LEDS to a red green combo and it should look pretty mean.

Kind of did notice but those were the only fan at home. Waiting for the Corsair AF120 in white and blue LED that I ordered last night to arrive. I must say the Hyper 212X was worth it I am running my FX-6100 @ 4.0 GHz and 1.47 on Vcore and my temps never went over 34C. Ran prime 95 for about 12 hours and still running not going over 34C. :D:D:D
