lulz...

typical telskelm fashion

Availability for up to 10 Mbps Fastest ADSL cannot be determined at this stage. Please contact the DSL call centre on 10219.

********: Your exchange supports up to 20 Mbps fastest faster ADSL. The provision of such a service is subject to port availability, distance, copper quality and line sync speed limitations.

...well one can dream :D

Its gonna be pretty funny when everyone has 10mb speeds we gna be complaining how slow it is and wanting 20+ mb speeds :p

It seems the West Rand of JHB has been kept in the dark ages. Not even a hint at an upgrade to 10MB. Oh well...

I love this little clause at the bottom:

* The source database is updated regularly. Last update: 2010-08-13 08:15

Uhm...it's the 17th today....so much for "regularly"

I love this webpage.

The error message has now changed to:

This service can not be converted to 10Mbps Fastest DSL at this stage. Please check again in future as we are continually upgrading the network.

The funny thing is the date stamp on when last their DB has been updated is still the same, so it's just the message that has changed. What is also missing now is the call center number it gave you at the end of the message last time.

I'm thinking that people FLOODED their call centers so they had to change the message to rather say "NO YOU CAN'T HAVE IT" instead of some message that gave people false hope lol.

just means number not found imho. i've entered my cell number and got same message.

Don't worry Telkom will come through.

You just got to have a little faith.

Oh wait...

What the heck am I saying.

Um ja enjoy the speed you have now and be lucky they haven't reduced it in an effort to as one telkom spokesperson would probably say:
"Provide an integrated, multifacited paradigm shift from the norm to produce a revolutionary microlight scopic focus beam of coherent light data transporting system."

Translating... Please Wait... Please Wait... Please Wait...................................

Translation complete...

"Charge you more for less and make you believe that it is good for you"

"This service can not be converted to 10Mbps Fastest DSL at this stage. Please check again in future as we are continually upgrading the network."

It just means your number has not been added to the DB. The error message is blatantly negative to stop people from phoning the call centre. That message changed about 3 times in 1 day because they couldn't get the wording right lol.

changed my dsl to dsl2+ and wolla it syncs. just spermcount disagree on their site saying it is still non dsl2+. suppose i could phone in and ask for profile switch to 10meg...if i get one with a brain...
