City of Heroes / City of Villains players

I played CoH back when it first came out... my first experience at subscription mmo's. Played for 2 months and lost interest.

I played CoH again briefly last year. I see they have made some major improvements, but still is not my cup of tea.

Well, just wanted to know if there are CoX about and wanted to hear if they are switching to Champions Online or not.

A lot of people have left CoX after the last update which totally mucked up the PVP part. Regen scrappers can't regen, defenders are gods and tanks get bullied.

But yeah, was just out of curiousity to see how many South African CoX'ers there are

Sorry my 1st post was a bit troll'ish...

I 1st saw the game in my Guild Wars booklet and became quite interested. Unfortunately that's where it does off after I suffered from prolonged internetlessness.

I don't know anyone else who plays it, so I've never really put much effort into seeing what it's about.

Is it still worth going into? I.e. what are the monthly subs vs endgame enjoyment like?

Na, no worries

Well, they have been doing great work with content on both Hero and Villain side, adding new zones and task forces as well as making more power sets available to the players, which is a good thing, and then of course there is the invention system with sets bonuses which turns an already maxed out lvl 50 character into something totally different, with a whole different play style etc.

But of course, it's expensive, and this has brought the farmers to CoX who will grind for in game mula and recipes and sell them off to desperate "lusers" on websites :)

You can buy extra slots and you gain bonus powers for every 3 months you play, but nothing that would hold my attention really.

But, in saying that, I've been in game for 30 months now, taking breaks every now and again for a month or two, but I still haven't played through all the content. I would say I have about 30% more to do in total in both blue and red side.

That, accompanied with the clan which is online almost every night and who communicate via ventrilo makes it still worth my time. You know how it is, you get to know the guys and hear their every day stories and what happens in their lives, so a good social event too :D
