Clan Energy heading to ESWC

I was actually arguing with a friend this weekend when South africa took on mexico he was saying that the south african team and esports are 2 different thigns if i understand this article correctly esports = SA team

I smell MSSA coming on this soon.

I dont think Energy is the SA team.
I dont follow Dota alot but as far as i know only one member on the "SA team " is from Energy

I thought the winner of the DGC gets to represent SA as a country MSSA are jsut looking for ways they can not promote gamers and get money to do it

All they say is represent South African gaming, does not necessarily mean they are the "South African Protea team".

They're representing the best team of the region/country, not the country itself (crappy wording but it makes the best sense). ESWC is pretty much the best of each region or country battling it out as opposed to each country's national team.

My understanding is that the MSSA works like Athletics SA. So they should set representation standards, facilitate funding for athletes and then when an SA team gets to represent SA they tag along for a free holiday to watch the team off our money. But I could be wrong

thats just that MSSA want to dictate who represents SA. I hope they do well at the ESWC. And then prove that we dont need MSSA

No they don't. MSSA has nothing to do with this, it's privately funded by EN sponsors.
