Clean your RIG!

Lately my GPU temps seemed a bit high! Thought perhaps it was due to the summer temp increase.

Cleaned all the dust out and GPU temps back to normal. Yay

Don't know if you guys agree, but it needs to be done once in awhile:D

Agreed.

I work as a PC techie, most of the problems that I've had to sort out on customers PC's are due to dust build up.

Yes, agree.
I'm using compressor to blow dust and all hair. Also grease all fans.

This went funny, when one guy called next day and said that icons in system tray were blown away by air jet from compressor. :wtf: :D

LOL, I use a compressor carefully once a month to clean the inside of my pc. The other thing that works well is using a makeup brush to carefully dust the parts as well.

I take mine outside about once a month, blow out all the dust and that's it.

The issue comes in when you leave it for months and months, then it is a bitch to clean.

Can I likez to be borrowing your makeup brush Please Wyv :P I seem to have lost mine :(

Compressor works the best, keeps those parts looking new :)

Go buy one u eejit :P Just a normal big blusher brush works like a charm :P

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one using this. I've had many slaps from my wife when she caught me using her make-up brush ON MY PC. (before any of you try to make clever jokes lol)

Yeah I also clean the inside of my PC once a month, the amount of dust that builds up on the CPU fan is crazy.

It will be good for your relationship if you surprise her with a new set of make up brushes. Trust me, it will do wonders, my ex stole my make-up brush as well for the same reason and then had to grovel for a week . . .

I hadn't cleaned my PC in a good couple months, I actually had to remove the cover and heat sink from the GPU to give it thorough clean. Which is a bit scary because it might just not work again.

Nothing like a good blow-job for your PC! :D  :p

I left my old PC for months and months and then one day got sick of it and completely stripped the machine. I mean completely. Took the chassis apart, front cover, every fan, every heatsink, alles! Then I brushed of the hard dust with a paint brush and then proceeded to clean every fan etc with a antistatic cloth and rubbing alcohol. Took a while, but the difference was insane.

So yes, cleaning your PC is essential. Buy a can om compressed air and use that once a month or so. Or get a compressor if you can afford it, or do the extreme like I've seen once, take it to your closest garage and blow it out there!

The other day I noticed a burning smell coming from my PC, checked my cpu temp and saw it was hitting 70.
Decided it was high time for a clean, it looked like I was pulling underfelt off my gfx card and cpu heatsinks.
