Cliche battle mechanics we're tired of

I wouldn't say I'm tired of a lot of those... Especially the bosses becoming mini-bosses becoming common. It helps you realize just how much more you kick arse at the higher levels :)

I agree. It's important to see how you're progressing.
 
Being new to the whole playstation thing and having started with some of the older games I must say that I find some of the "Quick time" battles tedious.
An example would be GOW killing the bigger bosses, Feels more like I am playing Dance Dance Revolution or Simon than killing some beast from beyond.
Not at all immersive when all you are doing is following onscreen prompts.

I kind of agree with you on this one. I used to really like them, as I do enjoy rhythm games, but now they have started to get a little old...
