Anyone follow this story? Haven't seen it posted on here yet?

Team Rize wins the SA qualifiers with two UK players, and gets to UK host for 2 of the games too, lol!

 
I'm kinda in two minds, part of me wants to side with our fellow SA guys saying this is BS, then again, it was only 2/5 games...that means those UK dudes had to deal with SA host for 3/5 games.
 
The UK dudes shouldn't be competing in an SA tourney though. Or change hosts to the hosting country.

That's like me hosting a US championship in Jozi. Not going fly.

I was on the fence here with this, but actually its bullshit and the rules need to change. Its made the whole 2014 "SA team" a joke.
 
Pathetic but these kind of ballsups are part and parcel of the 'scene' so put up with it because it aint changing or shut up or /uninstall

How much of a retard do you have to be to become a MLG referee?

Playing a LOCAL tournament, with great local teams and then these douchbags from Rize (or whatever their called) come in with two UK based players.

And then to top it off, one of the best COD clans in SA lose to them because the match is hosted in the UK. Why was it allowed in the first place? I'm sure that these people could read SOUTH AFRICAN tournament, meaning LOCAL game!!!!

That was a complete joke and a disgrace for MLG and that stupid Rize clan. May they get their rears handed to them in the tournament on day one. They don't deserve this opportunity.

Unfortunately its still all within the rules, technically Rize haven't done anything wrong. The actual ruleset needs to be looked into.

I know that they didn't do anything that's technically against the rules, but I would honestly be so ashamed if I were them.
 
Ye they may have stayed within in the rules but it's a knobend way to do things and I hope they are shunned for pulling bullshit moves.

For sure man. Douchebag moves really, the rule might work for guys in EU countries, but not when there's a whole continent in the way.

They've now managed to get a free trip to the COD:Champs, for a virtually brand new team. I followed the team last year and really didn't care how well or badly they did, they were representing SA. But this just feels like a BS team who took advantage of BS rules, so I wont be following them at all this year.
 
We had a dota game like this where they asked if we can play a game on eu servers because they have eu players we thought it was BS but couldnt say anything because by the rules it was fine

Definitely, at least there's some real international outcry too about it. Yeah its not much, but that vid got quite a bit of attention.

It really is a joke.
 
Can you even imagine if this was an American team? It would be all over the interwebz. IGN would have 77 reporters on it.

Yeah it;s one of those situations were the unfairness is inherent in the system; thus the system needs to be changed
