CoD: MW 3 vs. Battlefield 3

This is not a troll thread. I personally do not feel that these games even need to viewed in opposition. That being said they are rather similar and therefore are likely to compete for the bucks of the same audience. I think they are both probably going to be fun and very competitive. Lets keep this from being a fanboy flamewar if at all possible... So which game do you think is better? The reasons that substantiate your answer should refer to gameplay dynamics only.

tl;dr Which do you think is better and why?

I think you should go check out the 30 other CoD vs BF3 threads :P

But seriously, there's been a LOT of threads about this. Like you totally missed out dude :D

Okay, I'll throw in my 2c in this one. After playing a bit of BC2 online, my mind has changed. A lot. As long as BF3 is better optimized than BC2, I'll buy it over MW3 anytime. Unfortunately, though, BC2 is nigh unplayable on my Ati card at this time. Been forced to play it on lowest settings, and still stuck with horrible lag, where I could play it on high with my old Nvidia card on the same machine.

BF3.. why well its quite simple. WAY better engine, better gameplay, tanks, jets, choppers, DESTRUCTION. I will NOT spend any money on Activision's cash cow, besides the cash cow comment their COD series is beyond stale

What Ati card is it? My 5770 blows through the game on high at full HD. BC2 is very much more CPU dependent.

On topic. I'm fatigued on the CoD franchise, so BF3 for me. :)

I will play BF3 first, but if I hear good reviews on MW3 will most probably get that too.

It's the Sapphire Radeon 6870, so technically it shouldn't have any issues. I'm starting to think it might be physics related though. I can play on servers with little people on, but once the buildings start getting destroyed I get giant lag spikes.

Yup, that sounds like a CPU dependent thing.

The only weird thing is, on the same PC with an older Nvidia card, it ran fine. I didn't play multiplayer then, but the SP had no problems.

Which reminds me. Need to go on a building demolishing spree again. :D

I mostly play at night, because I get more manageable latencies with OpenWeb then. For some reason I really like the Wolves of War Dethmatch server, and if I'm not playing that I'll sometimes be playing the Mweb server or one of the 1000 tickets servers.

didn't Nvidia experiment with physX on their cards.they have like a small inbuilt CPU that improves the overall CPU performance of your machine.

Yes you do:p
I have started again. Played with rambo, buzz and densweep last night.

I so alomost knifed you you bastard, when you were camping in that corner at the A flag! Stupid heavy boots making thumping noises as I run! :D

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure how it works, but as far as I understand, Nvidia cards have built-in Physx hardware. Ati doesn't, so they suffer with Physx intensive games. I tried playing with Physx in Mirror's Edge, and it turned into lag central. :P

As far as I know you get dedicated Physics cards, though. If I'm not mistaken about their existance, I'll just get myself one sometime.
