COD players aren't "hardcore gamers, even gamers" – Infinity Ward

They aren’t hardcore gamers, or even gamers,

Now if I were a troll, I'd say something like "I've always suspected this much". Good thing I'm not a troll, eh?

But in all seriousness, I can understand that they don't want to change too much on the "rules" of the multiplayer aspect of these games. Sadly, and this is purely my own view, this translates into a lack of innovation in single player campaigns as well. I've giving up on CoD because each new release started feeling like just a few new chapters of the previous game. This is probably an overly harsh judgement, but I don't want to spend a heap of money on a game with an under-cooked single player campaign.

I also don't think its safe to change CoD to much, remember how the dev got death threats because a gun timing change.

But CoD has its formula that fits casuals and it sells by the truck load so they would be silly to revamp the game, if it ain't broke then don't fix it. I'll most likely get this on its first special, end of the day its an FPS big mac. It hasn't changed much nor is it very special but it gets the job done especially just want something quick and simple.

Problem is you need innovation to continue your success. Look at Blackberry - yeah I know its verrry different but people will get bored and want changes/upgrades.

Once you stop innovating you will fall behind. They have a huge head start though.
