COD world at war map pack

Just got an email from activision saying there is a new map pack, but only for Xbox and PS3 it says the PC version is "coming soon". The maps look cool, can't wait to get these available on PC.

Also I was wondering, is the MP mixed across the 3 platforms? IE Xbox, PS3 and PC guys all play together? Or do they play on seperate servers?
 
That's kinda a good question - I'd imagine they'd connect to different servers but it would be pretty nifty if they were all on the same place.

Yeah, but if they connecting to their own servers, then there must be SA servers just for Xbox and PS3. Interesting.

I reckon the platforms play on their own servers, for technical reasons.
Considering the games are not exactly the same on each console.
They may release a patch / update that is not necessary on the other platforms and can potentially screw them up, either the one or the other 2 if they are connecting to the same servers. Then they must release a patch for the other 2 as well to fix that, etc.

It just adds too much complexity imo. It is simpler keeping them separated.
 
New map pack FTW!!! Hopefully it'll come out soon. It's a shame that they focus so much more on the console versions.......

The flame thrower was quite a nice touch, but I enjoyed the remake of the older weapons.

After I got my new E7400 chip I started playing the game again. I must say I rather enjoy it. The M1-garand works very well in this one & the game sequences were well thought out. It would be unfair to compare it to COD4 though, since it would take a LOT from another fps to surpass it.

EDIT: Aside from all of that, what I'd _REALLY_ love to see is COD expansion packs. Instead of bringing out a new game every year, why not release additional campaigns that run off exactly the same engine? Imagine COD4 ... the amount of additional missions/campaigns would be endless - and all would run excellently on that game as it is.
 
COD5 is really not that bad, it is growing on me. I think the biggest issue people have is comparing it to COD4, it is not as fast paced so I guess thats why people don't dig it. Hope this map pack comes out soon for pc, I am getting impatient :D
 
I've been playing some more COD5 last night ... really well put together.

I hate that the COD franchise has always made the games so short though :(

Problem is that they no longer put focus on the SP, but rather the MP. I wouldn't even recommend a game like COD4 or 5 just for the SP, personally I don't think its worth all that cash for such a short SP.
