Collect Steam trading cards easily with Idle Master

Also started using this on Saturday and I have about R30 now with about 150 card drops still left. Half Life 2 cards have sold for the most (R1.70 each) so far.

I know a lot of ya'll be selling ya'll cards, and the default process for this is quite tiresome (in my experience), be sure to check out the Chrome extension to make this easier... Steam Inventory Helper.

Thanks, Enhanced Steam also allows you to quick sell them though, so I'm just using that.

You can also open multiple instances of IdleMaster, so it will idle as many games at once as you want :3

Quite a few of my games didn't have cards yet when I played them, so the playtime is more than 2 hours but I still have all the card drops left, so it helps

AFAIK, thats still a really bad idea. the reason it idles them one by one is that the card drop rate drops exponentially when you have multiple games open, hence why it only does it to get your play time to 2 hours.

...so yea, rather don't do that and just let it do its thing :)

I wasn't aware of that. I had 2 idles running yesterday evening, while playing a third game. I got 3 card drops in about an hour (from the 2 idle games). The third game doesn't have cards.

I wonder if the idler will connect to steam at work..hmmm

oooo I missed this somehow, I'm so going to give this a bash I craft badges for games I deem worthy and the rest I sell or trade.

Has anyone gotten a slap on the wrist from steam or a ban hammer in the face due to this yet ?

Not that I know of, but something tells me if you Idle more than time allows it will draw suspicion. ie: have 100 hours gametime in a single day.

I would only do 1 at a time, just to play it safe.

Still, just a matter of time before they do something about it and then the ban hammer could come down hard

Pretty much. I'm with Eugene and motta on this. Before IdleMaster there was Steam Achievement Manager, and before that there was something else, I've forgotten the name. Valve really doesn't care. If they did, they would have done something about it ages ago.

The developer of Idle Master, jshackles, even asked a Valve representative to tell him if they want him to stop developing and remove the application. Their response was pretty much "meh"; that they don't officially condone it, but they aren't going to stop people from using it either.

Honestly at this point I'm not sure what Valve really has a passion for. VR maybe? Probably TF2 hats. They seem content to let Steam rake in ridiculous sums without messing with it much.

I just don't like the fact that it tracks the time in game as play time. I like to know how much time I've spent in my games.

Well if I look at my badge progress I no longer have card drops for the games that I do or have actively played.

Exactly, so the cards you're "idling" are games you aren't playing in the first place...so you dont have to worry about the time for them :D

Hmm... you make a valid argument.

Brings me to another point, is there a config or someway to exclude certain games I wonder?
