Comic Books

Cool will read it in order then... Have you read Necrosha? Apparently it leads on after the Messiah series... looks pretty interesting coz it brings in the Hellfire club as well from dark phoenix...

Ja I've read Necrosha. Not all the tie-ins, but the main story line. The X-Men had a great run back then. I'm not too sure what the hell they are doing right now.

So after some more reading on the Suicide Squad casting, I saw that WB have Oprah in mind to play the Wall. They should make this happen.

Yeah i think her playing the wall could be a great asset, and i'm keen on seeing Smith as deadshot he might surprise. And these days they make a lot of Character mistakes in casting actors in dual characters. Take Cris Eveans for instance Captain America and Human Torch

And Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool, Green Lantern and Weapon X

Yeah, it is a bummer that they do that. Luckily, the Human Torch/Captain America thing will work out because of the different universes those characters inhabit (because of the whole Fox / Marvel & Discney film-right issues). Then again, Evans' Human Torch and Reynold's Green Lantern are all falling away.

I must admit, seeing the news of the Suicide Squad cast confirmations is great; great talent and a great choice of characters chosen. I'm keen to see what they do with the property. I've only really come across a lot of the characters as antagonists for the JL members in their individual capacities. I'm excited :D. I'm actually going to pick up some New 52 Suicide Squad

Rick Flagg is a strange choice for Hardy, though. Old military general that gets mutated into a boar-like creature with massive teeth. Great actor, I'm sure he'll figure something out.

I wonder who will play the Wall. You can't mess that up, or I'm out. The most crucial SS member.

By the Wall, I assume you're referring to Waller? Yes, they definitely can't screw the pooch on that one, probably why they're keeping hush thus far.

That would be interesting :?

Yeah, the Wall :)

New52 Suicide Squad is okay. There are better Suicide Squad books from pre-New52, specifically by by John Ostrander.

Viola Davis would actually be a badass Waller !!!

For some context, check out How to get away with Murder! Also, Death Vigil is so amazeballs!!!!!!!!

Wow, you are right, bru. Just watched a few clips of her. She'll do.

She is proper hardcore.

So, it has occurred to me, like it has to many others, that DC will probably have Darkseid in one of the movies in their cinematic universe because it makes sense (and because Thanos will make a Marvel appearance), but I'm not going to lie, I would really really like to see an adaptation of the Trinity War and Forever Evil storylines ... It might be too ambious though, but just imagine having Crime Syndicate vs Justice League. So hype... We're not ready for it though:rolleyes:

It would be pretty cool. I'm not too sure how much of the New52 stuff will make it into the cinematic universe just yet. I think the basis for most of the stories will probably be pre-52 stuff. If they do go the New52 way, I do have lots of those #1 first-print issues ;)

I stopped with DC events, because I felt they didn't do them well enough. I've not read Trinity War or Forever Evil for that express reason. Any good?

I didn't really have much expectations, but I'm enjoying Forever Evil. A few gripes here and there but it's good for the most part.
I'm also going to start with some Marvel reading soon. Got some Amazing Spider-Man, and a few Iron Man issues.

Then again, I think it's pertinent to remember that I started really reading comics in these last 2 years, which means my comic book experience pre-New 52 and pre-Marvel NOW! is pretty limited outside of a few comics here and there (Mainly Superman and JL).

I hear what you're saying. I started collecting seriously in 2011, with the New52 launch. But I've gone and read a LOT of the old stuff with the help of Comixology and some friends. I now know more about comics than I do about gaming...I like that.

I'm pumped that you got some Marvel stuff. Slott's Amazing Spider-Man run (the current one) is apparently really cool. Let me know what you think about it.

So I got a few more books added to my pull list:

Gotham Academy
Gotham by Midnight
Arkham Manor

and then I also got the last two Multiversity books (The Just and Pax Americana).

I have a serious backlog and a real serious problem.
