Comic Books

StaggerLee, I haven't read the Flashpoint run, but I've seen the animated movie that's apparently based on it, Flashpoint Paradox

If you are enjoying the flash stuff, then give Flashpoint a try. There is a lot of depth to it. It's really a coll alternate-reality-type story. In some ways it makes you appreciate the DC heroes more, especially Batman - damn that is a great story. If you can, give it a try.

I like Warren Ellis' stuff. Trees should be good. I just know nothing about it.

I finished reading V for Vendetta (finally). It's definitely better than the film, and I really enjoyed the film. If I had to recommend an order in which to consume the media, I would say read it first, then watch the film. It seems to be more poignant in comic-book form for some reason. The film is still worth a watch though.

I also finished some more Flashpoint stuff - the Green Lantern book. I quite enjoyed it and I was told that it wasn't that good. I'd recommend it as well, just as I have recommended the other Flashpoint books. I think it's a really good event. Read it if you haven't yet.

Believe it or not...I've never read V for Vendetta. Although I did almost buy it just now at Outer Limits...very high on my reading list, Alan Moore is a god among men. Also, Flashpoint is the business. I was underwhelmed when it came out, but the more I read it, the better it got. Batman, Superman and Deathstroke's books were awesome.

The Flash comics are so much fun :). I'm having a good time with them, and I'm reading some Green Lantern as well. TheAvenged87, Francis Manapul is the man

Yeah man. The art in that run is just amazing. READ FLASHPOINT LIKE SL SAYS

I'll check it out, but it definitely sounds like Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox with the alternate timeline story on the JL members. The whole WW vs Aquaman (Atlantean-Amazon war) story, Thomas Wayne's Batman, and Superman's somewhat nonexistence.

Ja, I think it's the same story.

And Avenged, you should have bought V for Vendetta. Alan Moore is truly a god among men :D

I haven't read From Hell or The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I also need to get to those. I have seen both the movies though. From Hell was brilliant as a film, The League - meh.

The book is even better. Takes forever to read and a while to get into...but once it has you, it is all over.

Gotta read it! Arrrgghhh!!!

I'm sure I've asked you before but have you read his Swamp Thing run? Oh man that is good. I am two books into the 6 book run and it's just so flippin good. I don't want to read more for fear of finishing it, cause then there'll be none left :(

No yet. That is extremely high on my reading list.

I must admit one thing about The Flash, I'm loving it immensely, but I sure hope we're going to get more versions of Reverse Flash, because
Spoiler: show
as much as I'm liking their take with the first shown Reverse Flash in the New 52 run (Daniel West; Iris West's brother and Wally West's Uncle)
, I still want to see what they might do with an Eobard Thawne Reverse Flash or even a Hunter Zolomon Reverse Flash because I feel like they might be better antagonists to Barry Allen (ET more so HZ since HZ is more a Wally West antagonist).

Dee, as far as Flash goes, I haven't read anything from the new 52. Which runs are you busy with and which ones do you recommend?

That's a pretty cool thought. Strangely enough, my favourite Flash villain is Captain Cold. What's cooler with a blue Eskimo, with 3D glasses and a "cold" pistol? And they still take him serious. That's a bad-ass villain.

To be honest, New 52 (and Marvel NOW) has been my comic book entry point for everything that isn't Superman or Batman. So I'm as far as the best Flash runs, I'm just as blind :o

I like him too; a villain with work ethic and he's no idiot either.
Spoiler: show
I find the dynamic he has with Lex Luthor in the JL interesting.

I think you mean the Bebop glasses :D

Lex Luthor is the business. Probably one of the most purely evil villains in comic books.
