Comic Books

i actually want to start getting all the deadpool and lobo comics and actually want to start batman again now that my kids can also enjoy comics i think i'll start buying again

Yeah, that's the thing about this whole sexism and misogyny discussion, I'm all for it because those things exist in the industry, but what I'm not for is trying make everything a sexism of misogyny issue...

I'm signed up and ready for class by the way :)
Agreed. I feel for people who are affected by it, but not everything can be a massive issue about human rights.

I'm glad that you're taking part in this class, I think this was made for you.

How old are your kids, dude? The current Batman is pretty hectic for kids.

Deadpool and Lobo you can get in trade or digitally, I think they might be difficult to get in floppies.

My eldest is 9 so i would go for the more toned down previous versions if i can get my hands on some. Will look for the lobo and deadpool thanx :D

Oh, also, our class starts next week. Who's registered?

I haven't registered yet, I'll get to it today. Gonna be awesome.

So, any news on the Archie or Harvey comics front...?

/promptly leaves

I can confirm what Avenged said. I have read Afterlife with Archie and it's excellent. Well worth a read by any comic fan. I was sceptical at first, but it's great.

Done it.

...so I guess I'm at da choppa?

I guess you are. The course also has a pretty decent Facebook page with comics from last year's students and some videos on the class. Check it out from the Coursera page.

On a completely unrelated note, is anyone reading Grant Morrison's new book Multiversity? I finished the first issue last week and ordered the second one just now. Great over-the-top superhero book.

I've only read about it, but I'm keen to read it. If it wasn't over-the-top, it wouldn't be Grant Morrison :D
