Comic Books

Ok for those of us who are doing the course: how did week 1 go? What do you think of the course?

It's a bit slower paced than I would like, but it's interesting (if a bit wishy-washy) so far. Honestly though, I am finding it difficult to take William Kuskin seriously. Those mannerisms! I have chuckled a few times.

I haven't quite finished week 1's lectures yet, so I am a bit behind. How are you finding it?

I dig it. Kuskin is a passionate guy, and he is extremely passionate about comic books. You can see it when he discusses the floppy and tells you what you can see in it.

The pace is fine for me, I think it is created that way to be more accessible to your average Joe who doesn't have a lot of comic book experience.

I'm going to stick with it. If anything, it makes me want to experience comic books more instead of just reading them.

Ja, I think it's definitely worth sticking with. I don't think I'll stop it entirely unless I really get bored, but I don't see that happening because, you know, comic books :D

Yeah. I've pulled out my pencils and started dusting off my drawing skills in anticipation for the comic book project.

Kuskin is one passionate motherlover :D. I'm having a heck of a time. The pace is cool though, I'm a bit slow mainly since I'm juggling my extra-mural work as well. I'm amped for the super project :D

Same here. I drew 50+ noses last night to sharpen up my skills. I can't wait for the project. I've already started to think about what I'm going to put on paper.

I'm starting the Week2 work tonight.

I'm going to be doing something similar as I get do some week 2 stuff tonight. Last time I drew anything was a Dragon for a lady friend of a mine earlier this year. I've also finally gotten back into some New 52 vibes (currently on Supes #25, JL #17, Batman #2, Batman - Superman #1, Superman - Wonder Woman #1). I'm having a good ol' time (time is cruel mistress though :D).

Also, have you checked out Death Vigil?

I forgot how much fun drawing is. I should do this way more often.

You're loving the New52, huh? I should get back into some of those books. I'm on a bit of a horror / western / sci-fi kick at the moment with Star Wars, Pretty Deadly, Judge Dredd, Saga and East of West. I'm also picking up Multiversity #2 today, I haven't read something so crazy in a very long time, Grant Morrison is being Grant Morrison.

Also, have you checked out Death Vigil?

I haven't! I just Googled it and saw that it is an Image limited series. Looks great. Are you into horror-ish books? I've got a few with great stories behind them, if you'd like some recs.

I really am loving New 52 :D. I still have to check out Saga:eek: (the preview panels I saw look amazing). I haven't really tried the horror stuff, but I could give them a shot. As long as there is a good story, I'm down.

I've also been wondering about Multiversity :?

Dude, we should now seriously hook you up with Saga. And Revival. Just those two for now.

Are you going to rAge?
