Company of Heroes 2 review and opinion roundup

I'm a huge COH fan, so am loving it. The core gameplay remains mostly the same. The single player missions are as frenetic as ever and I'll start playing some MP over the weekend.

Ahh thats good to hear - I'm also a huge COH fan - Cant wait to play!!

Ive just had a call from Ster and they are saying that they also did a fresh install from disk and they also only had the 4gb update to do - so I wonder what this 9.9gb download is that I'm doing now???
 
More than likely it never installed the data from the disk and is instead downloading the entire game. It happened to me once, but I can't remember the exact fix. You should be able to find it on Steam's support page or maybe find a fix on google.

Yeah that would be great. CoH is still one of my all time favourite multilayer games, and can't wait for this. Stupid business trip is keeping me from installing though, so will see you over the weekend

The disks installed as they should - or it looked as if it did - had to change disks half way through and then it just started updating.

Ive seen that before where steam ignores the disks and tries to download the whole game - but you notice that and I think if I remember correctly you just have to install the game offline and that negates that - but this install dosent seem to allow me to do that??

I'm wondering the 9.9gb isnt the Theatre of War DLC - but that just seems to big for free DLC?
 
I think you had to exit Steam and then delete the clientregistry.blob file from your Steam directory.
 
LoL to scared to delete anything in case I have to download it all again - I'm 5.8gigs into the download with only 2 -12 hours remaining!!!
 
I'll let you know once I have the game (one day) and we must jam some co-op games online!

Haha, yeah. Been looking for something worthwhile, something else, to play for a change. It would be a welcome distraction from playing Dota every day.
 
LoL yeah thanks F:) - the main updates finished sometime this morning - there was a small one left to do which is almost done now - ha,ha all in time for me to leave for work!!

But if we are going to be playing mp over the weekend my Steam tag is moody401
