Competition post count limit?

I feel that the post count should be upped a little now, but in response to your comment Necuno I feel that it doesn't matter how senior you are on the site, everyone should only get 1 entry, think about it I've won 3 times since the site started. Now I just don't enter as much anymore :rolleyes: :p. But ja that is just my opinion :)

Same, I've won 3 times. Being more senior just means you've had the chance to enter into more compo's.

I'm all for more members joining and if the obvious spammers get nailed in time then there's no need to fix what isn't broken.

So far I think there's a happy medium between old-foggies and 'n00bs' winning prizes with equal frequency. Thanks for keeping it 0rsm, Tincan!

Look, I don't 50 posts is really too much to ask. It is a reasonable requirement and quite possible to attain without the need to spam. But the advantage is also that people simply signing up for comps will find it hard to not make posts that are essentially going to be labeled spam.

As for all the talk about banning people, I really do think that the mods need to be a little stricter regarding what is considered spam by new members, especially around competition times.

But the thing is when you see the amount of time you have to post as the comps are roughly about a week long and that is more than enough time to post stuff that is valid and worth being mentioned in the forums. I can easily get to 20 posts in a day and no not with just sitting in TK but there are constant articles popping up within the forum that I feel that I can have my say and is worth saying.
 
Keep it as it is now. With anti-spaming crusaders like syco-boy the mods will be able to find and take care of them. :p

How about a compromise? Older members get 2 entries, but if they win, it goes down to 1 again.
 
20 posts is way too easy a target for spammers to reach during the competition period. I say make the minimum overall post requirement high; a new member may not reach it in time to qualify for a current comp, but he'll probably be eligible for the next one if he sticks around.

While this may discourage some people, there's not much point in giving prizes to people who are here for nothing else. Reward the loyal members who contribute, create a rad vibe and the new members shall come.

Precisely. Eventually the regulars are going to get upset when Noob235 with 20 posts wins the next X-box give away(hint hint) and are never seen again.
