Console vs PC Gamers. PC gamers win by large margin.

Interesting, interesting. Noesis. They should've known better.

One correction though, under certain conditions, elephant and pig DNA can indeed be spliced; examples of such 'successful' experiments can be seen on daytime television programmes.

What has that got to do with anything?

Btw what is with your avatar. Looks like a diagram the nazis used to measure jews noses or something.

It's a joke man. Read the link, right at the end of the article there's like a box where Sharky says about how elephant and pig DNA, i.e PC and console gamers, can't be mixed. I thought it was pretty clever.

Oh well My mistake but that avatar does look like something out of a nazi text book:p

A couple of console players joined us at a lan a while ago, all with gamepads on their PCs. First up was UT3. They got beaten badly By mouse and keyboard players. Interestingly enough, ALL of them played better later on using mouse and keyboard. WE played Halo 2 to prove a point, as it's a "native" console game so to speak, and they got owned by mouse and keyboard (and some of us pc users at the lan have never even played halo 2 ) Again, when they swapped to Keyboard and mouse, they did better. WE Lanned ModernWarfare 2 (a blast on Lan BTW, so much better without the lag). Again, same thing, users using the gamepads got pwnt.

Interestingly, Gamepads proved to be better in Gears of War. I played better using a gamepad than my mouse and keyboard :|

Dont know why they even tried to compare the two platforms, if i look at my preformance on a console all i can say is "eish". I rather keep adventure type games for the console. I dont even own any fps for console.

That's interesting. Y'know, I come from a hardline PC gamer background, barely touched a console until three years ago. And I can say with absolute conviction that I play better with a gamepad than I've ever played with a mouse and keyboard. I still play Team Fortress 2 on PC from time to time, and I actually miss playing with my gamepad when I do. The keyboard and mouse just doesn't work for me anymore. Of course, I'd also add that I've only ever been a very average skill player on PC.

I play loads of shooters on console, and nothing comes close to Gears in terms of control finesse. The game simply feels right on a gamepad. It was the first shooter I played on console (and the first game I played on an Xbox 360, actually), and I had no trouble getting into it at all. It's probably worth considering, however, that the game characters are chunky, and this in combination with the wide FOV negates the need for fine aiming most of the time. The third person view is also likely a significant factor. It's not just a matter of controller implementation, but also of game design that plays to this. If that makes sense.

Yeah I Understand what you are saying, and am 100% with you on that one. Whenever I replay GOW now, I do it with a gamepad only.

Yeah, this was kind of expected. But, as we all know, keyboard + mouse is not better for all games. They tested it with FPS only. What about racing games? Or adventure games such as ACII:Brotherhood? There wouldn't be such a big discrepancy for those genres.

Sad thing that they're implying though... If it's not worth doing for FPS, it's not worth doing at all.

For any game where you have to aim something, a mouse and keyboard is the only way to do if you want to be able to aim straigh and fast at the same time.

But than there are games like Prince of Persia, or racing games like NFS. Once I switched to using a controller for them I'll never look back again. And than are the hybrids like GTA. Not even in a car or plane can I use the controller right, It has to be the keyboard and mouse. The newer series of Tomb Raider (Legend +) is also better with a mouse.

Borderlands however I gave a try with my controller and with the auto aiming on it was actualy playable, but getting critical hits it much easier with the mouse, and I pride myself on my critical hits.

As far as controller inputs go, I prefer the kb/mouse combo in pretty much all games. However, there is a lot to be said for the couch/frosty beer combo which I find is best implemented on a console in front of a nice 42" HDTV.
