The Constitution is not a static document and can be amended in accordance with the spirit it conveys, the presidency said on Friday.

"There is nothing untoward about referring to wishes to amend any part of the Constitution by any political leader or political party," spokesman Mac Maharaj said in a statement.

Maybe, but a constitution amendment is by the people and for the people. So wanting a 70% win so you can amend the constitution as you will is not fair nor in line with ethos and spirit of the constitution.

Basically the ANC is in shit and now they want to change law to suit their pockets.
