Cool gaming hardware developments

Hi-res monitors, while cool for gaming is MUCH more useful for work. To be honest, adding extra pixels for video or gaming is probably only incrementally useful. HOWEVER, allowing me to have more desktop real estate WILL be awesome.

Dual-monitor setup is also useful, but it doesn't add more vertical space. 1080p really caused a bit of a flat spot in the evolution of displays.

With regards to the glasses, there was an article regarding gaming tech which we really do not need and here we have some "cool gadget" :p. So is it a cool gadget or a useless one?? :)

Its a cool toy to have that is really useful but its not the most have the want you to believe it is. If you can get one then your in for a treat but if you don't then you can just shrug your shoulders and say whatever.

When it gets cheaper like the said in the article it will move off the list of expensive gimmicks and into a gamers arsenal essential but for now I'm sitting saying whatever.

I am keen on a pair of gaming glasses. I deal with an HUGE amount of eye-strain every day and I need to do something before my brain explodes.

As soon as I start working I'm gonna get myself a set but for now textbooks don't give eye strain

I remember my 19" CRT display doing 1600x1200. Then all of a sudden, 4:3 LCDs were coming out and maxed out at 1280x1024, so when my boss kept insisting I upgrade, I flat out told him no, as it would reduce my productivity.

It took a few years until the 24" 16:10 screens came out with 1920x1200. Good luck finding a 16:10 display these days... Grrrr

Not a fan of 16:9 for monitors, you need at least a 27" to make that aspect ratio 'work' imho. As for higher resolution, I think it's good stuff. Would be nice though if they could sorted out the whole non-native problem with LCD's though. :)
