Cooling Advice

My system sits at about 50 idle and hits about 75-80 under load and while I've heard that's pretty much normal, the weather is being a real SoB here in Durban, so I've decided I need a bit of cooling to keep things safe. I know there are enough peeps here that know what they're talking about so have at it, what would you recommend?

I will not be going the hardcore watercooling route, nor will I be sinking hundreds and hundreds into it. Probably looking at maxing out at R500-700 and looking mainly at a cpu cooler with maybe a good case fan thrown in.

I await the feedback :)

That Hyper 212 Evo is looking snazzy .....

@ Simon - that one you linked is almost the size of a car bro :wtf: And yes, it is a bit dusty in there, cleaning it properly soon too ;)

probably could cool a Charger as well, but yeah the Evo one is also pretty good, I think Deep Cool have one similar that a friend used, he paid about R400 and it brought his AMD cpu down to under 20 degrees. Will have to try and find out the name of it though.

+1 to Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. I have one, and it's working really well.

Hmmmm, I've been monitoring for a few days now and it seems it's not only my CPU but rather that it's just hot in the box, full stop. So it may seem silly to buy a CPU cooler when everything needs a slight cooldown. How would I go about doing that, I mean, I have a 200mm fan on top, a 200mm in front and a 140 at the back. What more could I do to lower the temps?

Check which directions the fans are running, look for slow air and get it in and out fast basically.

Are you running more than one screen? I've noticed that my idle temperature rises by 10 degrees if my pc is in extend mode using the second screen, even if the second screen is off.

I ordered a new 200mm fan for the front, seems the current one is a touch wonky, so the Megaflow should help. Also grabbed a Jetflo 140mm for the rear to be safe.

OKAY!

You win!
