Correspondence Chess

Hi friends,

So I would normally stab anyone in the face who mentions any facebrick addons to me. I dispise those farmville / mafia wars/ ratemybellybutton / ilike / causes / whatnot crap that everyone always spams.

However, my boet has gotten me to play chess against him on facebrick and I'm actually enjoying it quite a bit.

We set the allowed time per move to 14 days, so it becomes a true game of correspondence chess, which can span for months.

Are there any of you who actively enjoy playing chess and who would be interested in this sort of thing?

Currently I have 5 games going simultaneously.

I used to play chess at school. My Grandad was actually very close to be a grandmaster ( I kid you not) so it runs in the family.

I absolutely detest it now though.

I used to play poker a lot. However it got me thinking that it was really and truely a waste of my time as I am not winning any real cash, given that it was for entertainment - I could have been doing other more constructive things.

I used to play provincial chess back in the day and was invited to the SA Open. I haven't played in years but I love chess.

My bro and I used to come back from a whole day's surfing and sit down with coffee and play chess. We were strange like that.

What I enjoy about this setup is that you have 2 weeks to make a move. So it's not a case of sitting down and playing for 2-5 hours.

You look at the moves, ponder a few days, then make your choice. It's actually very chilled compared to your typical game.

Use to play Chess in primary school. Sounds like this app cud be quite fun.

I play Attack (aka Risk) on facebook. Quite fun to play online :)
