Right off the bat. The corsair 7.1 is virtual, not true/real 7.1.

So the 7.1 is pretty useless in games and watching any form of media. (I have a 1500 1200 set myself). The surround feature dampens a lot of the lower frequency sounds and then it feels like you are in a box, depending on the soundscape you use.

Keeping it on stereo; The sound is amazing though, and the mic is crystal clear. They are LOUD, especially after I had updated the drivers. Currently have the volume on 8% in windows and it's almost deafening in some games. Noise canellation is also very good, past 14% you will not be hearing anyone else around you.

It's also nice to have the Volume/Mute button on the cord, it's helpful when you want to quickly mute your mic, or turn the volume up or down.

Gaming wise I have never had problems,I normally set it to 5.1 in games anyway and I get a fairly accurate representation of surround. I can easy hear footsteps and gunshots in CSGO (sound where tweaked recently). Used it on my PS4 as well no problems either.
